Magnus Nwagu Amudi is an Attorney & Counselor-at-Law admitted in the State of New York. He is also a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He has over 8 years of legal practice experience, with special interests and knowledge in corporate, technology, data privacy, and environmental law among others. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the Elizabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, New York (Summa Cum Laude). He is an entrepreneur, a public commentator and an aspiring political leader. Magnus speaks and understands Igbo, English, Pidgin English, and Spanish. He is CIPP/US certified. Among his publications are Solving Nigeria’s Energy and Climate Crisis: A Green Approach (October 2, 2018), and The Associate: Dos and Don’ts for Entry Level Employees (October 1, 2020).
Magnus has worked with various organizations specializing in environmental and energy law. As a graduate researcher, he assisted the Pace Energy and Climate Center with high-quality research work and blog publications under the supervision of Karl Rabago and Dean Richard Ottinger. He has also worked with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (“IUCN”) as a Legal Advisor.
Prior to pursuing a Master of Laws at Pace, Magnus practiced as a licensed attorney in Nigeria. He worked as an Associate Attorney at Aelex, one of the largest law firms in West Africa. At Aelex, Magnus advised multinationals on dispute resolution, data privacy, e-payments, regulatory compliance, and on general corporate matters.
